Nitronic 50: Corrosion Resistance & Strength
Nitronic 50 (1.3964; also known as N-50 and XM-19) fasteners offers reasonable corrosion resistance and a good combination of strength, ductility, and toughness, across a wide range of temperatures from extreme heat to cryogenic. Due to Nitronic 50 fasteners improved corrosion resistance compared to 316 and 317 stainless and good mechanical strength, they are often used in marine applications, pump shafts, petrochemical and pulp & paper applications. Perhaps their most unique characteristic is their low magnetic permeability. This attribute allows Nitronic 50 screws to be used for medical implants.

Nitronic 60: Wear & Oxidation Resistance
Nitronic 60 is known for its good resistance to wear, fretting, and galling even at elevated temperatures. Nitronic 60 bolts are typically chosen for these attributes as an economic alternative compared to high cost cobalt-bearing and nickel alloys. In terms of oxidation resistance, Nitronic 60 is comparable to that of 309 stainless steel. At high temperatures, Nitronic 60 bolts exhibit carburization resistance superior to both 316L and 309. General corrosion resistance of Nitronic 60 falls between that of 304 and 316SS. Nitronic 60 bolts are often used in chemical processing, bridges and infrastructure, and aerospace applications.

Nitronic Screws
12 Point Screws | Nitronic 12 point screws offer improved torque over socket heads, but they are be less economical and require a higher minimum quantity due to production complexity. Nitronic 12 point screws are available in diameters 1/4" or larger. | • IFI-115 • MIL SPEC • DIN 34822 • DIN 34821 |
Button Head Cap Screws | When a low profile fastener with wide clamping area is required, we recommend Nitronic button head cap screws. Button head screws are often used for fastening a material that is too thin to counter bore. | • ASME B18.3 • ASME 18.3.4M • DIN 7380 / ISO 7380 |
Flat Head Screws | Nitronic flat head screws have a standard 82° countersink angle, but can also be customerized to other angles from 60° -120°. Flat heads are designed to be flush with the surface and can be made with a slotted and socket drivers. Phillips, torx and tamperproof drivers are also available. | • ASME B18.3 • ASME B18.3.6 • DIN 963 / ISO 2009 • DIN 965 / ISO 7046 • DIN 7991 / ISO 10642 |
Hex Head Cap Screws | Nitronic hex head cap screws are used for high clamping force and easy access. They have a washer face under the head that isn't part of a hex head bolt. This face provides tighter dimensional tolerances. | • ASME B18.6.3 • DIN 931 / ISO 4014 • DIN 933 / ISO 4017 • DIN 961 / ISO 8676 |
Pan Head Screws | Nitronic pan head screws have rounded heads and typically feature a slotted driver. They best serve low torque applications that require small diameter fasteners. | • ASME B18.6.3 • DIN 7985 • DIN 921 • DIN 85 / ISO 1580 • DIN 84 / ISO 1207 (cheese head) • DIN 966 / ISO 7047 (raised counter sunk) |
Security Screws | Nitronic security screws provide a solution to unwanted tampering because they cannot be removed with a standard driver. Nitronic tamper-proof screws can be made in a wide variety of driver styles, as well as custom per print. | |
Set Screws | Nitronic set screws are a headless fastener. They have a slotted or socket driver on one end and a special point on the other. We offer Nitronic set screws in cup, cone, flat, dog and half-dog points. | • ASME B18.3 • DIN 913 / ISO 4026 • DIN 914 / ISO 4027 • DIN 915 / ISO 4028 • DIN 916 / ISO 4029 |
