Industrial applications of monel fasteners
Monel alloy, also known as nickel alloy, is an alloy made of metal nickel as the base and adding copper, iron, manganese and other elements.
Use:
The structure of Monel 400 alloy is a high-strength single-phase solid solution and single-phase austenite structure. It is a corrosion-resistant alloy with the largest amount, the widest application and excellent comprehensive performance. This alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas medium, and also has excellent corrosion resistance to hot concentrated lye. At the same time, it is also resistant to corrosion by neutral solutions, water, sea water, atmosphere, organic compounds, etc. An important feature of this alloy is that it generally does not produce stress corrosion cracks and has good cutting performance. The alloy is mainly used in valve stems, pump shafts and impellers, conveyor scrapers, oil well drilling rings, elastic parts, valve pads, etc.
Corrosion resistance:
The alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in fluorine gas, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and their derivatives. Acid medium: M400 is corrosion-resistant in sulfuric acid with a concentration of less than 85%. M400 is one of the few important materials resistant to hydrofluoric acid. Water corrosion: M400 alloy not only has excellent corrosion resistance under most water corrosion conditions, but also pitting corrosion and stress corrosion are rarely found, and the corrosion rate is less than 0.025mm/a. High temperature corrosion: the highest temperature of M400 continuous work in air Generally around 600°C, in high temperature steam, the corrosion rate is less than 0.026mm/a. Ammonia: Due to the high nickel content of Monel 400 alloy, it can resist corrosion under anhydrous ammonia and ammoniation conditions below 585°C.
Generally, the corrosion resistance of Monel K500 in solid solution is basically the same as that of Monel 400 alloy. Therefore, the corrosion resistance data of Monel 400 can be applied to Monel K500 alloy. Due to the low corrosion rate of the alloy in flowing seawater and the high strength of the alloy, the alloy is particularly suitable for the manufacture of seawater corrosion-resistant centrifugal pump shafts.
Applications:
The nuclear industry is used to manufacture equipment for uranium refining and isotope separation, seamless water pipes, steam pipes, seawater exchangers and evaporators in power plants, sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid environments, crude oil distillation, pump shafts and propellers for equipment used in seawater, The nuclear industry is used to manufacture equipment for uranium refining and isotope separation, and to manufacture pumps and valves for hydrochloric acid production equipment
Monel K500 (K500, NCu30-2-1, UNS N05500) alloy not only has excellent mechanical properties such as high strength, corrosion resistance, and non-magnetic properties, but also has the same corrosion resistance as Monel 400. It can be used as a pump shaft material, and is suitable for working under harsh geological mining conditions of high-sulfur and high-wax oil layers. Since the alloy has no plastic-brittle transition temperature, it is very suitable for various low-temperature equipment. This alloy is mainly used for pump shafts and valve stems, conveyor scrapers, oil well drill rings, elastic parts, valve pads, etc. Applicable to petroleum, chemical shipbuilding, pharmaceutical, electronic sectors.
Monel 400 alloy (UNS N04400 or MCu-28-1.5-1.8 or Ni68Cu28Fe) is a kind of alloy in seawater, chemical solvents, ammonia sulfur chloride, hydrogen chloride, various acidic media such as sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, organic acid , Nickel-based alloy material with good corrosion resistance in alkaline medium, salt and molten salt.
Monel 400 alloy also has good mechanical properties, wide service temperature from low temperature to high temperature, good welding performance and medium and high strength.
Monel 400 is mainly used in chemical and petrochemical and marine development and other fields. It can be used to manufacture various heat exchange equipment, boiler feed water heaters, petroleum and chemical pipelines, containers, towers, tanks, valves, pumps, reactors, shafts, etc.
This alloy has comprehensive properties of toughness and corrosion resistance, and is widely used in chemical and other industries. For example, it is used in the manufacture of heaters, heat exchangers, evaporators, stills, distillation towers, condensers for fatty acid treatment, equipment for rosin booth acid treatment, chemical pumps, etc. Because the alloy also has high strength and good oxidation resistance at high temperatures, it can also be used in the heat treatment industry to manufacture various structural parts. In the nuclear power industry, this alloy has good corrosion resistance to high temperature and high pressure water, so it is also an important structural material for light water reactor nuclear power plants. The products include plates, rods, wires, strips, and pipes.
